This post is copied from a friend’s page… I didn’t know what to say or comment, or even whether I should press Like…All I could think of was the memory it brought back to me of the mother who came to me and asked to take her liver to give to her ill son who need liverplant... she had one condition that no one should know, not even her husband… We are all the same... We are ready to die for our children to live... May Allah save this country…The story begins….. Muhammad’s mother went back and forth to the clinic every day, hoping that she can get a serum for her son’s jaundice.. however, the doctors were not able to help his condition because his case was “much better” than others in a sieged area under continuous shelling with airstrikes !! Maybe the doctors were right, but Um (prefix that means mother of) Muhammad was watching her son dying slowly in front of her eyes day by day because of the lack of medication and food!!9 months passed with her trying to do something to take her son out of this place that has become a war zone!!On Muhammad’s 13th birthday his mother promised him “when we leave the siege and your health gets better, I will make you a birthday party”, but Muhammad didn’t want to wait and he asked his mother to use the one candle they have for his birthday.. she did! She put the candle on the barley bread loaf and they sang... The mother, the father and the siblings sang and laughed a lot on Muhammad’s birthday… His dream was to return to school just like his Arabic teacher promised... He told Muhammad that he would take him with him to Damascus to do the 9th grade exams!! But the only promise Muhammad could live was his 13th birthday party, and after which Muhammad passed away!!!!!After the mother lost Muhammad, she is trying nowadays not to let her 7-year-old daughter not to lose her sight after shrapnel entered her eye!! For two years now, she has been in denial that her little Hanin won’t be able to see with her eye; today when the doctor said there is no hope, she said “Can I remove my eye and give it to her? The doctor, who talked to her like another patient, and who is probably now because of the huge number of cases he treats is just used to see such a case, or maybe he didn’t expect what it means to tell a mother that your daughter won’t see in her eye anymore, or maybe because he doesn’t know that Um Muhammad has already lost Muhammad… the doctor was shocked by the request, and he really had no idea what to say… This is how families live under the siege...This is how children live in besieged areas…
